Graduated in Art History from the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava (Mgr. 1998; PhD. 2003), where she headed the Department of History of Fine Arts from 2012 until 2020, and currently serves as a docent and guarantor of study disciplines. Received habilitation in History and Theory of Art at the University of Trnava in 2018. Since 2000 works at the SNG, from 2001 as curator of the Gothic Art Collection. Completed several foreign scholarships (Salzburg, Paris, Madrid, Krakow, Poznan). In 2008, obtained licence as forensic expert in the field of works of art – fine arts.
Specialises primarily in sculpture, painting, and conservation of Baroque monuments in Central Europe, including later 19th century reflections. Periodically engages in historiography of art in Slovakia and gallery pedagogy. Curated and co-curated several collection displays for the SNG in Bratislava (Baroque Art in Slovakia, 2000; SNG Non-Permanent Display, 2014; and Sacred Art, 2023 – the latter two with Dušan Buran), as well as for SNG–Zvolen Castle and SNG–Mansion Strážky (with Katarína Beňová). Also produced several national and international exhibition and research projects (e.g. An Industrial Country? Central Slovak Mining Towns in the 16th–18th Century, 2010; Treasures of the Baroque between Bratislava and Krakow, National Museum in Krakow, 2017), as well as smaller domestic exhibitions. Authored or edited several art-historical monographs (most recently Under Maria Theresa: chapters from the history of Baroque sculpture and painting in Slovakia, Stimul, 2018; and, together with Katarína Beňová, Patronage of Art Around 1800, Stimul, 2020; Art and Artists in the City around 1800, Stimul, 2023), in addition to numerous articles for domestic and foreign professional press.
Managed the Slovak section of the international art web portal www.ahice.net from its foundation in 2004 until 2011. Co-authored the projects www.arslexicon.sk and www.musicon.sk.
