The course is designed as a closed cycle of six sessions that naturally build on one another, guiding participants through the entire process of creating a ceramic work — from the first touch of clay to the final glazed piece.
The course will gradually take you through the individual phases of creating a ceramic piece — from preparing and processing the clay, through hand modeling, working on the potter's wheel, and casting into plaster molds, to decorating, glazing, and the final firing. The individual techniques naturally interconnect, offering insight into the various possibilities that ceramic art has to offer.
You will learn the basic principles of working with clay and develop an eye for shape, volume, proportion, and surface. You will try your hand at creating both functional objects and freer, more expressive pieces, gradually developing your own working method and artistic style. Glazing will be the final stage.
After the first firing, participants will have the opportunity to add color to their pieces according to their own ideas, become familiar with different types of glazes, and watch as their works are transformed into finished ceramic objects after the final firing.
The individual techniques will naturally interweave and rotate throughout the course, giving each participant enough space to master them thoroughly and create their own original works. The course is intended for adults aged 18 and over — both beginners who want to discover ceramics and those who already have experience with clay and wish to further develop their skills.
We place emphasis on hands-on experience, experimentation, and the joy of creation. The result will be not only a series of your own ceramic pieces, but also a deeper understanding of the material, the techniques, and the entire process of creating a ceramic work.
