In the unique space of the Kornel and Nada Földvári Library, we will discover how important it is to capture the world around us in words. We will explore how quickly we forget the details of everyday life, and in the studio we will create a family journal together – a place where your shared thoughts and experiences can be recorded and preserved, rather than lost in the relentless flow of time.
We will meet in the magical space of the Kornel and Nada Földvári Library, surrounded by books that remain a testament to what Mr Földvári loved and what he devoted his attention to. Through games and small family experiments, we will discover how fragile our memories are – comparing whether parents and children remember the same moment in the same way and what has remained in our memory from it.
To make sure our shared experiences do not fade from memory, we will create a special keepsake for them in the studio. We will learn a simple Japanese binding technique and make an original family journal or artist’s book. We will design our own cover and create the first entry or drawing together. This will become a unique archive of your shared days, where you can stick in the public transport ticket you used to get to the programme, or draw a funny moment and look back on it even ten years from now.
The SNG Family Club is a regular programme for families with children, offering a creative and inspiring way to round off the weekend. It combines the shared discovery of art directly in the gallery’s exhibitions with hands-on creative work in the studio. The programme is about discovering art, sharing experiences, working together, and creating moments that parents and children can enjoy together.
