In the studio, we will explore paper as a material with surprising sculptural possibilities. We will try different ways of shaping and modelling it and observe what happens when we fold, bend, twist, crumple, or layer it. A simple sheet of paper can gradually transform into new shapes and three-dimensional structures.
Participants will experiment with the properties of paper and find their own ways of giving it volume and strength. They will explore how the material can be deformed, reinforced, and constructed so that it stops functioning merely as a surface and begins to create space.
This creative activity will offer a new perspective on paper – not as a surface to work on, but as an independent artistic material that can change, gain volume, and become a three-dimensional object.
