15.00 – 20.00 | Studio within the Exhibition Jiří Kolář and Ladislav Novák: A Tribute to Flies Spiders Fish Mice and Dogs
Location: Water Barracks, 1st floor, Hall I
We invite all visitors to the studio within the "Kolář + Novák" exhibition, where they can try out various collage techniques inspired by the works of these Czech artists. Feel free to drop in at any point during the listed hours.

See how works on paper – drawings, prints, and photographs – are brought back to life. From careful examination and conservation through to safe display, we will take you behind the scenes of exhibition preparation and the work of conservators who protect and preserve artistic treasures.

Location: Studio, ground floor
We invite all children to the SNG studio (maximum capacity: 50 participants). Children will have the opportunity to express themselves artistically using a variety of techniques. All necessary materials will be provided, along with space to develop their creativity in the inspiring surroundings of the gallery. Feel free to drop in at any point during the listed hours.
16.00 – 16.20 | Lecture: "Modernism in Fragments"
Location: Water Barracks, 2nd floor, Hall VII
Can a single painting tell me where Slovak modernism came from? And what exactly is modernism? How did avant-garde movements take root here? Can an artist be both modern and Slovak?
Through fragments, we will explore how Slovak modernism took shape, drawing on selected works from the permanent Modernism exhibition.
16.30 – 17.00 | Curator's Talk: "Positive / Negative / Collection / Archive" with Lucia Almášiová
Location: The Bridge, 3rd floor, next to Hall X
The archives of Slovak photographers – including the estate of Ladislav Noel (1922–1996) – are being given new life. We will show how the gallery receives, sorts, digitises, and prepares these materials for public presentation, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the careful work involved in protecting and preserving a valuable photographic heritage.

A puppet theatre production about a mischievous, capricious, and conceited princess, performed by Jaja Theatre.

Location: Entrance hall, ground floor
This lecture by architecture curator Denis Haberland will focus on the building history of the individual structures that make up the gallery, which gradually and organically grew into a single architectural whole. He will highlight several structural, design, and architectural features and points of interest of this important Slovak cultural institution.

This commented tour by modern and contemporary art curator Vladimíra Büngerová, accompanying the exhibition "Galanda and the Galanda Generation", will focus on two prominent figures of Slovak modern sculpture – Vladimír Kompánek (1927–2011) and Andrej Rudavský (1933–2016). She will present their work in the context of the themes they explored, as well as the materials, techniques, and formal experiments they employed – experiments in which the reduction of form to its most essential state, to a sign, was of fundamental importance.
