The collection of naïve art is a specific SNG collection that encompasses paintings, sculptures, drawings, and graphic art. It was established in 1965 when the international cabinet of naïve art was founded at the gallery by Štefan Tkáč, a prominent theoretician in the field of naïve art and the originator of the Triennial of Naïve Art, an international event held at the SNG. Tkáč was instrumental in delineating this collection.
