As is traditional, on one Saturday evening in May, the doors of museums and galleries across Europe open until late in the evening, offering visitors an exceptional programme and an unforgettable atmosphere. The Slovak National Gallery is no exception, having prepared a rich mosaic of experiences for visitors of all age groups.
Adult visitors can look forward to curatorial and lecturer talks on current exhibitions as well as permanent collections. Children will enjoy the Mysterious Scavenger Hunt in the Gallery, which will lead them through corners full of art and imagination, as well as a theatre performance, a children's book reading with Petra Bernasovská, and a variety of competitions. A unique highlight of the day will be the opportunity to observe restoration work up close.
The atmosphere throughout the day and evening will be complemented by an archival film marathon and creative workshops for both children and adults. Those who love exploration and competition can also take part in an interactive social media game called "Find the Secret Corner" and compete for a valuable prize.
Tickets can be purchased at the SNG box office – a single ticket is valid for all institutions participating in the Night of Museums and Galleries festival. Children under 12, persons with disabilities, and seniors over 70 enjoy free admission (unless otherwise stated by the individual institution).
