The residency open call is designed to create an intervention into the exhibition IN PIECES
Residency dates: November 2023 - May 2024 (2 - 4 weeks)
PROJECTS SHOULD REACT TO THE CURRENT EXHIBITION and be related to its theme:
What is a fragment, both in the context of history and of the present? How and what do we read into it?
A fragment, part, segment, or torso depicts the body and a thing wounded, deformed, incomplete, imperfect, but also "beauty in disfigurement", the image of death, tragedy, revolution, eroticism, memento, and absence. Simultaneously it engages our imagination, inviting us to complete the missing part and to find meaning in an unknown whole.
The open call is not limited by media and is open not only to established artists and artistic collectives but also to beginning artists and students. The residency is not financially rewarded.
