The aim of the project was to use principles of digital storytelling and artificial intelligence when working with online collections, and thereby to increase audience engagement during and after visits to exhibitions.
Main project outcomes
development of the Atlas SNG app, which allows visitors to learn more about the exhibited works, save them to the collection, and watch related videos. In 2023, 11,000 people used the app.
three educational videos and methodological materials for teachers and pupils on the themes of migration, the position of women and minorities in society, and the transformation of society.
development of an AI application that operates with works in the public domain from the SNG and Sørlandets Kunstmuseum collections and enables their interactive exploration.
EEA Grants
Through EEA Grants, the project Making Meaning of Digital Collections received €199,925.00 from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The project received €29,988.75 in co-financing from the state budget of the Slovak Republic.
EEA grants are jointly funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway in proportion to their GDP. Eligibility for these grants is determined according to criteria set for the EU's Cohesion Fund and is intended for Member States with a gross national product (GNP) per capita lower than 90 percent of the EU average.
